We love to drink wines from the Chauteauneuf-du-Pape region of the Southern Rhone and this wine takes its inspiration from those. Syrah adds dark fruits and beautiful texture to the pretty, old world characteristics of the whole cluster Grenache and aromatics of the Mourvedre.
You've heard us say it before - it all starts in the vineyard! Charted is a map of our vineyard. The blocks highlighted in red are the ones included in this blend - these block selections will change from year to year and will be reflected on the label. If you can't read Connor's scrappy handwriting, don't worry. Sometimes he can't either...
Not overpowering, the whole cluster of the Grenache shines through on this blend. Syrah rounds out the mouth feel and add to the overall complexity of this wine. Pop and pour, this wine has a firm backbone but it softens and opens with air.
DECANT - 2+ hours
I love the beauty of the Grenache from this year. Delicate aromatics greet you that then take a waltz on your tastebuds. The addition of Mourvedre and a touch of Syrah round out the mouthfeel and compliment the whole cluster fermentation characteristics on the finish. Knowing our Grenache likes to take it’s time. We hold onto it for you to rest in the bottle and release it later than our Syrah based wines.
