We love to drink wines from the Chauteauneuf-du-Pape region of the Southern Rhone and this wine takes its inspiration from those. Syrah and Mourvedre add dark fruits and additional texture to the pretty, old world characteristics of the whole cluster Grenache.
You've heard us say it before - it all starts in the vineyard! Charted is a map of our vineyard. The blocks highlighted in red are the ones included in this blend - these block selections will change from year to year and will be reflected on the label. If you can't read Connor's scrappy handwriting, don't worry. Sometimes he can't either...
Not overpowering, the whole cluster of the Grenache shines through on this blend. The addition of Syrah and Mourvedre round out the mouth feel and add to the overall complexity of this wine. Pop and pour, this wine has a firm backbone but it softens and opens with air.
DECANT - 1.5+ hours
60% whole cluster fermentation | 15% new French Oak
The 2019 growing season was similar to 2018 in that it was long and relatively temperate, with above average rainfall the winter before. This allowed the fruit to ripen long and beautifully on the vine resulting in developed tannins and flavor complexity.
